Mountain Harvest Organics was established with the goal of supplying our community with fresh food that has been grown and raised using sustainable and healthy farming practices. Come vacation with us and experience staying on a small Appalachian Farm because we love sharing our journey from being a city dweller to living on a thriving and highly diversified farm!We are about an hours drive from Asheville, Waynesville, the Biltmore Estate, the Great Smokey Mountains National Park, Cades Cove, Pigeon Forge, and Cataloochee.
We serve the Hot Springs, Asheville and Waynesville area with fresh, organic produce from early May thorough November. We also serve the residents of our Spring Creek community through our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. We currently supply 60 families with fresh produce through our CSA and offer two share sizes.
Our farm has 13 acres of tillable land with 5 acres currently in production, which allows us to grow a broad assortment of fruits, vegetables, flowers and herbs. Previously we were a certified organic farm through Carolina Farm Stewardship Association, but have since dropped our certification because of our direct relationship with our customers who know us and our farming practices. We continue to follow the standards put in place by the National Organic Program (NOP) but have chosen not to complete the paperwork and inspections required by the program.
We grow food and raise our animals using sustainable farming practices. We have been offering farming apprenticeships/internships in Western North Carolina for about a decade. Become a part of the farming community while enjoying the Asheville, Waynesville and Hot Springs area of North Carolina in learning the craft of farming by applying for our apprenticeship/internship position.
