In this region you’ll find the communities of Lake Toxaway, Rosman, Sapphire, and nearby Brevard, and they’re all the perfect destination for travelers seeking a serene getaway.

A really neat point of interest in this area is the Southern Highland Reserve, which boasts one of the largest and most diverse collection of native Southern Appalachian plants. This reserve opens its doors to visitors to showcase their beautiful gardens and highlight their important work to sustain the natural ecosystems of the Blue Ridge Mountains through preservation.
For families traveling to the region be sure to stop in to Bear Tracks Travel Center and Outdoor Adventures. Not only are they an outpost for food, fuel, and outdoor gear, but they can help you plan some activities the kids will love. They have gem mining, lazy river adventures, and can organize a fishing expedition.

Where to Stay
Lake Toxaway is a beautiful place to stay and the Greystone Lodge sits right on the lake and provides an opportunity for visitors to do as much, or as little, as they prefer. You can take a boat tour of the lake, enjoy golf at the Lake Toxaway Country Club, play tennis, indulge in one of their spa services, go kayaking, try your hand at water skiing, or just sit by the shoreline and take in the scenery.
