Attend a lively musical performance, go dancing at one of the many street festivals planned throughout the Blue Ridge Mountains, explore regional gem mines, sample your way across a food and wine festival, or explore a new art exhibit. There’s no shortage of cool things to do here in Western North Carolina. Here’s a list of some of the best events taking place this month.

Music on Main

An event every week that begins at 7:00 pm on Friday, repeating until August 17, 2018

The summer season gets into full swing with the return of the popular Music on Main concert series. People gather at the Visitor Center on Friday evenings throughout the summer to hear some the region’s finest bands. Concerts are held every Friday evening from June 8 through August 17 .
Musical genres vary from pop to oldies to rock. Bring a yard chair and your dancing shoes. Hot dogs, ice cream, pretzels and lemonade are for sale.
Cars shows are also held in conjunction with Music on Main. The shows alternate between classic cars and Corvette nights.
Music on Main presents a special fireworks celebration concert on Wednesday, July 4.
The audience seating area opens at 5:30 p.m. Please leave your pets comfortably at home. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be postponed until 8 p.m. If the weather does not improve by 8 p.m., the performance will be cancelled.
