There’s no shortage of cool things to do here in Western North Carolina. Here’s a list of some of the best events taking place this month.

Mountain Acoustics Luthier Invitational

The inaugural Mountain Acoustics Luthier Invitational showcases the art of fine stringed instruments and celebrates the rich stringed-instrument musical traditions of the Appalachian Mountains. Featuring some of the most talented luthiers in the region, the three-day event includes concerts, exhibits, workshops and more. Jay Lichty of Tryon, NC, will be the host luthier.
Festivities kick off Friday evening with a free luthier jam at Homeplace Beer Co. The public is invited to explore exhibits and workshops throughout the day Saturday and Sunday. Saturday at 7:30 p.m. guitar virtuoso Kaki King performs a concert at Parkway Playhouse.
Admission to exhibition Saturday and Sunday, $10 for a single day or $15 for both days. Saturday night concert tickets, $35. Workshops require additional fee, full list and prices available on the website.
