This special concert by the Toe River Chamber Ensemble will feature several numbers from Handel’s Messiah and be accompanied by the Toe River Community Choir.
First organized in 1975, the all-volunteer ensemble consists of approximately two dozen local musicians of all ages who meet weekly to rehearse. The ensemble, together for more than 30 years, are musicians from Yancey, Mitchell, Avery, Madison, and Buncombe Counties, and from many backgrounds and professions. It is an interesting cross-section and a demographic blend created by a shared love of classical music.
