Toe River Arts is pleased to present the Toe River Chamber Ensemble’s free annual holiday concert. The Toe River Chamber Ensemble and Toe River Community Chorus team up for a free holiday presentation of Part 1 of Handel’s “Messiah” at First Baptist Church in Burnsville. “Messiah,” by George Frideric Handel, is an oratorio with a scriptural text from the King James Bible. The piece was composed in 1741 and first performed in Dublin, Ireland, on April 13, 1742. The oratorio is one of the best known and most frequently performed choral works in Western music. The performance will feature soloists Jessica May, Elizabeth Boulter and Isaac Boulter.
