Micaville Music presents Denny Blue, Thursday June 28, 2019 from 7:00 to 9:00 in the OOAK Art Gallery. Cost for the concert is $5.00 at the door.
Dennis Wesley Hawthorn, an Americana & Blues singer, songwriter & acoustic artist, performs solo under the stage name “Denny Blue,”, began performing in Tidewater, Virginia and the Outer Banks of North Carolina in the early 1990’s.
Denny was educated and employed in the environmental management field most of his life. As a songwriter, he uses natural features like trees, mountains, and waterways as symbols in his song lyrics. Having shared stages with John Hammond, Jr. and The Wallflowers, he uses his harmonica, tambourine and Delta slide guitar work to display his interpretation of many classic artists and their influences. These include Doc Watson, Little Feat, Duane Allman, Robert Johnson, and Stephen Stills.
In 2015, he relocated to St. Augustine, Florida to become a part of the vibrant local acoustic music scene. Denny also has a home near Asheville, NC and performs several times each year in the vicinity.
