Classic Movie Club presents: Stormy Weather
February 26, 2018 @ 7:00 pm
The Burnsville Classic Movie Club has selected the 1942 musical “Stormy Weather “ for its February screening. The film is historically significant for showcasing some of the great black entertainers of the 1930s and ’40s. The cast includes Bill “Bojangles” Robinson, Lena Horne, Fats Waller, Cab Calloway and his orchestra, Dooley Wilson, the Nicholas Brothers and many more. The movie includes 14 musical numbers, among them are “Stormy Weather,” “Ain’t Misbehavin’” and “I Can’t Give You Anything But Love.” Also on the bill will be Chapter 2 of the 1939 serial “Daredevils Of The Red Circle.” Everyone is invited to join with the Classic Movie Club for the screening of this great film once again on the big screen as it was intended to be seen. There are no ticket sales for these events, but donations are appreciated and needed to keep our Movie Club and Yancey Theatre going.
