Burnsville Classic Movie Club presents “Hoosiers”
March 19, 2018 @ 7:00 pm
Event Navigation

The Burnsville Classic Movie Club will celebrate March Madness by screening one of the best basketball films to ever come out of Hollywood: “Hoosiers.” Sports Illustrated and ESPN share the opinion that it is the finest sports motion picture ever made. This 32-year-old film is based on the true story of a small Indiana high school basketball team’s long-shot attempt to win the 1954 state championship. With excellent performances by Gene Hackman, Barbara Hershey and Dennis Hopper, “Hoosiers” is a story of time and place recreated with such authenticity you can almost smell the newly waxed floors of the old gym.
Also on the bill will be Chapter 3 of the 1939 serial “Daredevils Of The Red Circle.” Everyone is invited to join with the Classic Movie Club for the screening of this great film once again on the big screen as it was intended to be seen.
There are no ticket sales for these events, but donations are appreciated to keep the movie club and Yancey Theatre going.
