Annual Tour de Lure
April 1, 2017 - April 2, 2017
The ride begins and ends at the Corpening Memorial YMCA in Marion. A 71-mile route through scenic farmland in McDowell county, climbs up Stone Mtn., passes through Chimney Rock and around beautiful Lake Lure before a return to McDowell County via the Assault on Mt. Mitchell route. The ride boasts 5,900 of ascent and is a perfect training ride for either of the Assault on Mt. Mitchell rides.
