A collection of classic literary works and the popular movies that brought them to life will be celebrated in “Designed for Drama: Fashion from the Classics,” Biltmore’s newest exhibition of award-winning costumes and objects from the Biltmore collection. Set for Feb. 10 through July 4, 2017, the exhibition is inspired by favorite stories in George Vanderbilt’s 22,000-volume library.

12th Annual Black Mountain Garden Show and Sale is set for Saturday, May 20, from 9 am to 4 pm at The Monte Vista Hotel, 308 W. State Street, Black Mountain, NC. This event is the season’s most scenically situated garden show. The Garden Sale selection of plants cover perennials, annuals, herbs, vegetables, native trees, shrubs, maples, iris, daylilies, hostas and garden accessories.
Garden related workshops will be conducted throughout the day. Come early to purchase items from the Clothesline Fundraising Event which supports the Black Mountain Beautification Committee. First of two bi-annual open studio tours featuring the works of over 80 artists in Mitchell and Yancey Counties, WNC. Free self-guided tour of some of the most prestigious artists in the country, who open the doors of their studio for this weekend event, kicked off with a gala reception on Friday, June 2 at the Spruce Pine TRAC Gallery from 5:30 to 7:30pm.
