Winter has passed and we are officially re-opening for our 2017 season at the Cradle of Forestry. Take a turn at horse-drawn plowing in the heritage garden, visit with demonstrators, and buy crafts from traditional artisans. You will feel Blue Ridge culture come to life as you step back into the time of the Biltmore Forest School and the Pink Beds community.

This unique historic site is home of the first forestry school in America, The Biltmore Forest School- 1898-1913. Today the Cradle of Forestry is a favorite Blue Ridge attraction in the heart of the Pisgah National Forest. Highlights include: 18-minute movie, hands-on exhibits, helicopter simulator, scavenger hunt, guided tours, paved trails, historic cabins, craftsmen, logging locomotive, special events, cafe and gift shop. Nearby attractions include Sliding Rock - a naturally formed creek waterslide - and Looking Glass Waterfall on Hwy. 276.
